Our Fundraising Campaign

The Friends of the Medfield Rail Trail proudly announce their 2018 Medfield Day Raffle in support of the trail.
The raffle event will kick off the fall fundraising campaign. We have two years to spend the $100,000 from the pending DCR Recreational Trails grant (the grant recipients will be announced in September). This leaves us with one year to raise the additional $100,000 that are needed before construction can begin.

If you are not interested in the raffle, please consider donating to this cause. We are looking for small and large donors. You can use the Donate button on this website, either by using Paypal, or by following the instructions for off-line donations. Donations can also be made directly to the Medfield Foundation. Use the MFi donation form and specify “Friends of the Medfield Rail Trail” as the specific initiative.

The Raffle

The raffle already started. You can pre-order tickets by emailing us at medfieldrailtrail@gmail.com or contact us at the same address for an in-person meeting. Jim James will be selling tickets at Park Street Books. Tickets will also be sold on Medfield Day at the Rail Trail booth, while supplies last.

There are 400 numbered tickets for sale at $5 each, or booklets of 5 tickets for $20. When you purchase tickets, please make sure to fill out your name, email and/or phone number. If you win but did not share your contact information on the stub and are not present at the drawing, we will draw another winner.

The drawing of the winning tickets will happen on Medfield Day (September 15, 2018) at 2:30pm, at the Medfield Foundation booth.

Again, if a winning ticket does not have any contact information and nobody is present at the drawing to claim the prize, we will draw another ticket right away. If the ticket does have contact information and the owner is not present at the drawing, we will attempt to contact the winner by phone or email. If there is no response, we will draw another ticket after 24 hours, and so on, until all prizes have been claimed.

The organizers of the raffle and their immediate family members cannot purchase raffle tickets. If you are not sure if you are in this group, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to the MFi in support instead and make sure to mention the rail trail initiative.

2nd Price:  Trek MT 201 Trailer Bike – 2018

3rd Price:  Co2 Tire Inflator Kit with Cartridges and Case

 

Prior to Medfield Day, prizes can be seen by appointment only (please contact medfieldrailtrail@gmail.com). All prizes will be on display at the Rail Trail booth on Medfield Day and can be taken home by the winners.

What if you win?

All prizes were donated to the Medfield Foundation for this raffle. Bicycles come with a full warranty and a receipt from Landry’s Bike Shop in Newton. Landry’s manager, Greg Hoffmann, confirmed that the winners can exchange their prizes for a different size or models of bikes. No prize can be exchanged for a full or partial refund, however.
