October 17, 2016 | Tad Staley | 2 Comments What a tremendous summer it’s been for the Bay Colony Rail Trail community! We celebrated the official opening of the Bay Colony Rail Trail in Needham in May and the Upper Falls Greenway in Newton in September. Although there is still much left to be done in Newton and Needham, families in both towns are now enjoying all the benefits of these multi-use paths. Now we turn much of our attention to the Medfield section of the rail trail. The next step is to increase the level of support with town government and build more excitement among our neighbors with the goal of gaining approval for the trail. Kickoff Event for The Friends of Medfield Rail Trail To that end, we’re organizing a new group and invite you to join us. The Friends of Medfield Rail Trail will spread the word about the rail trail, participate in fundraising events, help drive the vote during town meetings, and voice support among town government. Learn more about the Friends of Medfield Rail Trail by attending the kickoff meeting on Wednesday, October 26 at 7pm, at the United Church of Christ in Medfield, 496 Main Street. The meeting room can be accessed from the Bank of America parking lot on the north side of the church. Please join us and bring your friends and neighbors!
